Critics' Verdict: Kya Super Kool Hain Hum gets mixed reviews

By Hindustan Times

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is a zany entertainer that belongs to the 'hardcore commercial cinema' category. Sachin Yardi wins us within the first half but just can’t delay the laughs within the post-interval section. Here is what critics are saying in regards to the film.

"Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is a zany entertainer that belongs to the 'hardcore commercial cinema' category, as we call them in film parlance, geared toward magnetizing the hundreds in hordes. It's for viewers who're relentlessly thirsting for madcap amusement. It is not for pseudo intellectuals, neither for fuddy-duddies or hard-nosed and stubborn evaluators, who persistently dismiss and disrespect movies of its ilk as lowbrow absurdity," says Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama.

"Any blemishes? Though there's hardly a lifeless moment in its swift screenplay, I need to add, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum droops faintly within the middle, but again concludes on an unpredictably sprightly high. Besides, there are some jokes that work big time, while a couple of only try very hard to awaken mirth," says Adarsh.

"After a water-tight first half, the film begins to spill slightly and introducing Anu’s exaggeratedly eccentric pop Mr Marlow (Anupam Kher) doesn’t help. The one good joke within the second half is Anu’s mum’s name: Rosmary Marlow (Roz-Meri-Maar-Lo). And maybe Neha’s favourite TV show that's misunderstood as her preference for larger male parts, when she says, “Mujhe Bade Achhe Lagte Hain!" says Kunal Guha, Yahoo.

Direction
"Sachin Yardi wins us within the first half but just can’t delay the laughs within the post-interval section. While among the jokes are funny, it’s disappointing to search out lame SMS jokes of their dialogues. Being an adult comedy also signifies that Sachin has overlooked the plot, which really doesn’t matter within the movie either," writes Roshni Devi, Koimoi.com.

"Director, Sachin Yardi's film will entice an audience who trips over 'hard-core' sex comedies. There are scenes that 'vibrate' with humour, and squeeze ample laughs (some forced), but it's mostly a bleak story-line with random scenes which might be padded with pun-fulls of adult humour, sexual innuendo, and expletive one-liners. For a sex-comedy, the film is a tad long (size really matters, can not help it!) and songs like Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya slow the pace. In case you were sex (comedy) starved after Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, this sequel force-feeds you a double dose. This one's for teenagers who get a 'boner' out of bad jokes, however it may get an increase out of a few adults too. Watch at your personal 'risque'," writes Madhureeta Mukherjee, TOI.

Performances
"Tusshar Kapoor hams so much because the lovable loser Adi. Thankfully Riteish Deshmukh does an excellent job as Sid. Similarly, the yin-yang goes for the feminine leads to boot with Sarah Jane Dias standing out as Anu and Neha Sharma overacting a little bit as Simi. Anupam Kher is gorgeous because the disillusioned billionaire who worships pugs as his parents and collects Bollywood paraphernalia. Chunky Pandey is nice as Baba 3G. Rohit Shetty is fun in a guest role," says Devi.

"After delivering hits like Hey Baby, Housefull series, comedy is not any new business for Riteish Deshmukh. Riteish seems to have mastered the art of creating people cackle and that is what he proves within the film. Riteish does a super job within the movie, especially his facial expresssions work as an added enticement," reports OneIndia.

"Tusshar Kapoor is rather a 'master of his domain', we mean the comedy genre, alright. Riteish Deshmukh adds to this melee along with his canny knack for comedy, and together the lads tune their comedy timing with tact, if not precision. Neha Sharma is pretty, pleasant and acts well; Sarah Jane Dias looks hot in her bikini act and catwalks through her part with confidence. Anupam Kher has shown us a funnier bone within the past, and Chunky is simply too wasted and over-the-top, even for a brainless comedy," writes Mukherjee.

Conclusion
"On the whole, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is certain to get the affirmation nod by its target market -- the youth. Despite the sexual tone, adult jokes, impish humor, the movie, at no juncture, gets offensive, distasteful or objectionable. In fact, it's one big joyride from commencement to conclusion. This one is for the masses, for youngsters, for individuals who loved part one and enjoyed its crazy hilarity. Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum offers entertainment, entertainment and only entertainment in large doses!" concludes Adarsh.

"Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum has some specialized laughs, however the second half is usually a tad disappointing," says Devi.

"Kyaa SuperKool Hai Hum is definitely a faculty of sickeningly dirty jokes so that they can shock, disgust and scandalize but be sure that you will have a great time. So don’t leave your brains (or some other organs) at home, you will want it to dig out the implied meaning in every line," concludes Guha.
