Now, Halle Berry in a sari!

Halle Berry joins the ranks of international celebrities who've been flaunting the desi look Indian fans of Halle Berry, 45, are in for a pleasing surprise. The primary extended trailer of Cloud Atlas, Berry’s upcoming sci-fi film with Tom Hanks, shows the Oscar-winning actor in a bright red sari.
Dressed in traditional Indian attire, complete with glass bangles and mehndi on her hands, Berry looks every inch a brand new Indian bride.

The trailer was released to much excitement among fans of the epic drama in response to a 2004 novel by the similar name, written by British author David Mitchell. The unconventional includes six stories that take the reader from remote South Pacific within the nineteenth century to a distant, post-apocalyptic future. The film, written and directed by The Matrix creators Lana and Andy Wachowski, also stars Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant, and is scheduled for an October 26 release. The film contains stories set in a special time and place, and it's being speculated that Berry plays an Indian character in one.

In the new past, international celebrities equivalent to Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton and woman Gaga has been seen flaunting a sari, inspiring French luxury label Hermes to launch a whole range of the six-yard Indian wonder. “It’s great that international stars have taken to sporting a sari. It’s not only a promotion of our dress but in addition makes these stars a large talking point,” says filmmaker Anil Sharma. “But do younger women in India enjoy wearing a sari?” asks filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastav.
