Will Rohit Shetty cast Deepika Padukone opposite SRK in ‘Chennai Express’?

Anticipations are high as to who would play the feminine lead in director Rohit Shetty’s forthcoming project ‘Chennai Express’. The director has rubbished the rumors of Kareena being the lead saying, “I haven't really (approached Kareena Kapoor), she knows what I'M making. I'D do something else with Kareena. Just stay up for ten days after which everyone will come to grasp who it's. In ten days time, we will be able to announce our heroine.”

Shahrukh Khan was signed for the male lead and speculations are rife that Shetty is thinking about Deepika Padukone opposite King Khan. Unlike his previous eight films, Ajay Devgan isn't part of his cast.

‘Chennai Express’ will go on floors from the top of September and release would happen mid-next year. The movie relates the story of a person who travels from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens through the journey, is what the film is about.

“It isn't totally a train journey film, it's something else to boot and there's a the reason is, the name of the film is ‘Chennai Express’. Like only 15-20 minutes of the film is within the train, it's not like where the entire film is occurring throughout the train. I can’t talk much in regards to the film because it is simply too early,” Shetty said.
