NEW SONG: Saaiyaan from Kareena Kapoor's Heroine delights

By Hindustan Times

Madhur Bhandarkar hasn't really needed strong music for his films, for he compensates for everything that his movie lacks in his plot, direction and acting.

For his movie Fashion (2008), there have been two very strong songs within the film that finally came to become big musical hits- Kuch Khaas Hai and Mar Jaawan.

This time around, it sounds as if Madhur Bhandarkar needed to take care of music, for the reason that his upcoming movie, Heroine, is ready an Indian film industry or Bollywood actress, and Bollywood is defined by its songs.

And he has focussed pretty well.

Heroine's first song Halkat Jawani is already creating waves with its catchy tune and racy picturisation.
Kareena Kapoor

With the Halkat fever still continuing, a brand new song from Heroine, Saaiyaan was released and is steadily gripping us with effortless singing, complimentary music and sad lyrics.

The song is beautifully sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in a melancholic and mighty way wherein only Rahat can render a tune.

It is a tragic song, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has done full justice to the myriad emotions the protagonist or the Heroine Kareena Kapoor is undergoing.

Rahat has given us a wide range on this song- with altering his voice to fit the hopelessness and heartbreak within the song.
Complete with difficult notes sung effortlessly by the talented singer, this song turns into the anthem of broken hearts.

The music is by the duo Salim-Sulaiman they usually have done justice to the grandiose expectations from the music of Heroine.

Use of multiple instruments, perfectly blended with an even voice and ryhtmic lyrics work well for the listener. The chorus of the song is lightly harking back to the movie Dor's Ye Haunsla, but in an even way

The lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, are simple and effective. He has given words to the complex feelings of being lost, and eventually surrendering yourself to destiny, or the next power.

Some of the phrases are common , like dil sheeshe ka toota aashiyaan re. But then he immediately gives us, ab kis disha jaoon, kit mai basera paaun, tu jo thaame sambhal jaoon and surprises us with the simplicity and meaning of his words.

The video of the song is its another plus point. The song, in an issue of about two minutes, conveys the emotional journey of Kareena, or the Heroine.

She is shown falling in love with Arjun Rampal, then ignored by him and again getting concerned with Randeep Hooda. She has portrayed the turmoil of the lack of love extremely well.

Often, she is asking at herself within the mirror, as though metaphorically reflecting upon her own life, enthusiastic about what all she has lost and searching deep within herself.

From the appearance of the song, Heroine may be one visual delight.

With the great looks of Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda- this movie may be a treat for the eyes.
