Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has shot an important a part of his next, Barfi!, in Kolkata, has decided to kick-start the promotions of his film within the City of Joy. A trade insider reveals that the actor desires to explore Kolkata and fix with the local audience before his film releases. “Since the movie
is set in Bengal, he believes that while promoting it, he should pay attention to Kolkata,” says the trade insider.
Director Anurag Basu shares the similar sentiment. “Kolkata plays a pivotal part within the film, that is why town has a prominent place within the marketing plans. Ranbir and that i are most keen to begin our promotions with Kolkata,” explains Anurag. Ask him if he's giving priority to Kolkata over Mumbai and he says, “We will cover both the cities almost simultaneously.”
Ranbir kisses and tells Meanwhile, as his character Barfi, the actor has shot for an “interactive application on YouTube”, in partnership with producers UTV Motion Pictures.
A source with reference to the actor says that the applying permits you to change Barfi’s mood and learn flirting tips from him. “Ranbir have been very enthusiastic about this project and has shot extensively in order for a relevant situational video with him plays out for any word that the user types,” says the source. For instance, if you happen to type ‘kiss’ at the page, videos of Ranbir blowing kisses on the user can be streamed.
Confirming the news, Shikha Kapur, executive director, marketing, studios, Disney-UTV, says, “Ranbir is a youth icon and has an enormous fan following online. So we decided to marry the theme of Barfi! with Ranbir’s personality to create a brand new experience on YouTube.”
