Agneepath director's wife Ekta to show director

By Hindustan Times

Agneepath director Karan Malhotra's wife Ekta might wield the megaphone soon too, but just once her husband's next movie, scripted by her, hits the screens. "She (Ekta) has the entire plans to be a director. Hopefully, after my film she is going to soon be directing her next film," Karan told IANS.

Ekta has earlier worked as an assistant director in Yash Raj Films' Veer-Zaara and Salaam Namaste, and is currently busy engaged on the script of his next directorial.

Refusing to share much information about his movie, Karan said: "All I WILL BE ABLE TO say is that this might not be a remake. It's an original film."

Karan met Ekta for the primary time during Jaan-E-Mann, and later they worked together as assistant directors on Jodhaa Akbar and My Name Is Khan. They tied the knot in 2009.

He says Ekta contributed so much to Agneepath, "but she didn't get the credit for that."

"Then she decided to jot down my next film for which either one of us connected really well. It is a script just about my heart. It is a roughly considered married life and the evolution we have now passed through spiritually and psychologically."

"I will try my best to justify her vision. We both trust one another and we work as a team. I'm quite sure and fascinated by this project," he added.
