Aamir Khan proved that a star’s work doesn't end with the shooting of the film. He was some of the first Bollywood actors to be thoroughly involved with the promotions and marketing strategies of his projects. Other actors like Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar have also started doing the same.
The latest actor to be engaged on his next film’s promotion plans is Ranbir Kapoor. A source reveals that he was interested by every stage of the selling plans for Anurag Basu’s film, Barfi!.“His presence is integral to the film’s promotional plan. He’s going the additional mile to hook up with his audience,” the source says.
Producers UTV Movies chalked out promo visits to 8 venues throughout the UK and Dubai, which Ranbir is to hide in three days. The promotions have already kicked off in London.The actor is managing all this despite simultaneously shooting for director Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani in Paris with ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
About the primary leg of the promotions in London, Ranbir says, “It is terribly heartening to peer such a lot of fans pop out in great numbers to support us. I'M amazed to peer that there are such a lot of within the UK. I wish I MAY reach out to more people in other places.”
Amrita Pandey, executive director of syndication, international distribution and media distribution, studios, Disney-UTV, says, “We have just kicked off the international promotions for Barfi!. Thousands of fans flocked to a UK cinema last evening to catch a glimpse of Ranbir. Press conferences and interviews are important (to advertise a film), but there may be nothing that attracts fans greater than an opportunity to satisfy and phone their favourite actor. Ranbir have been fascinated by planning the overseas plans in addition. Priyanka (Chopra) has also just joined us in London.”
