Rakesh Roshan: No clicking photos on my set!

By Hindustan Times

The third installment of Hrithik Roshan’s superhero franchise, Krrish 3, is among the most awaited under-production films in this day and age. So it’s not surprising that filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is meticulously guarding his actors’ looks.

Banning cellphones from the sets isn't extraordinary. But he has gone a step further by imposing a strict ‘no visitors’ policy at his shooting location. He apparently has also banned the actors’ staff and the crew — including make-up artistes and hairstylists — from clicking referencing pictures to take care of continuity within the characters’ looks.

“Generally, during make-up or hairstyling, we click pictures and keep them as references for later shoot dates (to verify consistency). But we aren’t allowed to try this at the sets anymore. We’ve been told that the production team will give us the reference pictures if needed,” says a member of 1 of the actors’ entourage.

Roshan senior’s warnings don't seem to be to be taken lightly, as a star’s staff member discovered. He was on the receiving end of the director’s ire when he casually tried to click an actor’s picture: “Roshan sir was really unhappy. He made her (the staffer) delete the image immediately and told her to not do it within the future,” adds our source.

However, despite being handled like a top-secret military project, there was some discuss Kangana Ranaut’s look within the film. She plays a superhero, along with her look apparently inspired by Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar. Vivek Oberoi essays the a part of a villain who will seemingly be stuck to a wheelchair within the first 1/2 the film.

When contacted, Rakesh says, “It’s nothing new. I’ve always guarded actors’ looks in all my films, and I’ve never allowed any visitors at the sets. It’s true that no person is permitted to click pictures on location.”
