Bhansali to make film on MC Mary Koms life

By Hindustan Times

Though Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy together with his next directorial venture Ram Leela, he's also strongly functional as a producer. After producing the super-hit Rowdy Rathore and yet to be released Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, Bhansali is now prepared to provide a movie in line with the life of
the Olympic Bronze medal winner MC Mary Kom. The said film could be directed by the renowned Art Director Omung Kumar.

Omung Kumar, who had earlier worked with Bhansali on Black and Saawariya, approached him with an in depth script in response to the lifetime of MC Mary Kom, after acquiring the desired permission from her. Bhansali said that Omung brought the script to him a month before the Olympics. The film talks about how Mary, despite being a mother of 2 and having been through such a lot of struggles and hardships, became an international champion. Bhansali added that he was totally moved by the actual life story of an extraordinary Indian woman boxer. He also added that it's going to be an exhilarating film (for him) to supply. Ironically, Bhansali can be meeting Mary for the primary time on August 23 in Mumbai.

While the untitled film may be occurring floors by year-end or early next year, its casting remains to be undecided.
