Congress President Sonia Gandhi has invited newlyweds Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani to her residence in Delhi, say sources just about Hema Malini, a former BJP MP and the bride’s mother. Hema Malini recently visited the capital and invited Sonia to the marriage ceremony that came about on Friday on the ISKCON temple, Juhu.
Sonia accepted the invitation, but said she is probably not in a position to make it because of security considerations.
Instead, she invited the couple to ten Janpath in Delhi.
Confirming the news, Hema says, “She could be very nice to speak to. She said she wouldn’t have the ability to make it to the marriage ceremony because of security reasons. However, she added that after they (Esha and Bharat) visit Delhi, they're invited to her place and so they should go and meet her. It’s an overly sweet gesture from her side.”
