Actor Sunny Deol’s Bhayyaji Superhit, which resumes shooting after being stalled for a few months, has came across another roadblock. Actor Ameesha Patel was confirmed opposite Sunny, however the filmmakers have dropped Preity Zinta as she did not give dates for the
film.
Confirming the news, producer Fauzia Arshi says, “We don't seem to be taking Preity Zinta within the film.” The verdict to drop Preity from the film was made only on Monday, adds Fauzia.
Earlier, director Neeraj Pathak had announced that Preity was a part of the film. Actor Tusshar Kapoor had also confirmed in a contemporary interview that Preity was in.
But then Tusshar, who was going to join the project, walked out of it on the last moment himself because the dates he had to give clashed with the shoots of Shootout At Wadala and Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum.
The action-comedy, wherein actor Sunny Deol plays a double role, first got stuck when it went over the budget. When asked whether Preity was dropped because she quoted the next price Fauzia says, “No, it’s not that her fee is exorbitant however the negotiations were taking too long.”
The filmmakers are soon to start out a hunt for the parallel female lead of the film. “We are really wondering which actor to cast. As this decision (about Preity) was taken only on Monday night, we haven’t selected her replacement yet. We haven’t approached anyone for the role, but will soon decide on whom to get involved with,” says Fauzia.
