After starring within the Milkha Singh biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, actor-filmmaker Farhan Akthar is taking his association with sports slightly further. He was chosen to be the face of the sports channel, ESPN Star Sports (ESS).
In the promos as a way to air tonight, Farhan may be seen saluting past and current sporting legends for his or her contribution to the sphere and inspiring the youth to absorb sports.
A source with regards to Farhan reveals, “The channel was in search of a character who's determined and focussed, and searching at Farhan’s career graph and versatility, he was chosen. It was Farhan’s dedication while engaged on the nature of Milkha Singh that still worked in his favour.”
To prepare for the role, Farhan worked hard to score and maintain an athlete’s lean physique. With this film, he's also being seen as one of the most few actors practicing promoting sports instead of cricket.
The source adds, “Farhan was very happy to be the face of this promo. One of the vital key reasons he was chosen was because he's truly keen about sports and has intense determination.”
ESS is asking to ride the Olympics popularity wave, because it may be an enormous TV event. The source adds, “The promo is a motivational and emotional message to the sporting heroes of the rustic. Farhan’s standout performance in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) has helped turn him into an appealing brand ambassador for the youth.
