Contrary to media reports, Poonam Pandey's upcoming film, directed by Amit Saxena, isn't clashing with Sunny Leone's Jism 2 on the box office. While Poonam's film will see a December release, Sunny Leone's debut venture will hit the screens on August 3.
"Jism 2 was always meant to release on Aug 3,2012. Actually we even announced the date in our first press release which we put out quite a lot of months ago!" Pooja Bhatt told hindustantimes.com.
"For all those asking, Jism is because of release sometime around August.. It is going to be amazing...I promise :)" Sunny Leone had tweeted few days back.
Aditya Bhatia, National Marketing Head Eagle, who had earlier said he isn't frightened of his film clashing with Sunny Leone's Jism 2, confirms that the Poonam Pandey starrer will hit the theatres in December. "The clash was not intentional. We're still going ahead with the December release," he told us.
Poonam Pandey had earlier told us, "Yes, my film is releasing around Jism 2. If people compare me with Sunny, I WILL NOT stop their thinking. There are sure to be comparisons. But on the end of the day, your work will speak."
"It's going to modify people's mindset. It's going to change the best way people take into accounts Bollywood. It's radically different from the best way films are being made here. I MIGHT say, it is not a standard story of a-boy-meets-girl-and-they-fall-in-love genre. It is a very different story," the starlet had said about her upcoming film.
Jism 2 is being directed by Pooja Bhatt and can star Sunny Leone, Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. Imran Zahid and Mohan Agashe will play key roles.
