You’re every woman, it’s all in you: Bipasha Basu

By Hindustan Times

India, a rustic that proudly boasts of getting women adorn the offices of the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha and leader of opposition, albeit at different times, yet, it's this sort of significant achievement with which not many nations can pride themselves. Growing up with my two sisters in a real Bengali household, we were always taught to be independent and articulate, with education being given utmost importance. And it's the gift of fine education that's the biggest necessity in a rustic with a burgeoning population.

As someone once said, “The whole purpose of education is to show mirrors into windows,” and the way apt this philosophy is, for it's education which endows one with the facility of opportunity, a possibility to be the most efficient that you can be and a chance to bestow the process one’s future of their own hands. In India’s metropolitan cities, women benefit from the status of equals, proof of which lies within the undeniable fact that women occupy influential positions in all sectors of the economy. However, unfortunately, the similar trend isn't witnessed in as persistent a ratio within the interiors of the rustic where the stigma of the “girl child” still prevails.

Each day within the news, one reads of horrific cases of crimes against women, reports about cases of dowry deaths, female infanticide, sexual harassment, and domestic violence continue to plague our society. However grim, this can be a reality which must be addressed with extreme urgency.

No you could make you're feeling inferior without your consent. Women are blessed with the virtue of nurturing a family and playing varied familial roles with much ease. This is a quality that's so unique to ladies who very smoothly multi-task ever so meticulously.

I strongly advocate imbibing the virtue of self-confidence, self-respect and most of all of “loving yourself”. As Chaka Khan confidently sang, “I’m every woman, it’s all in me.” Believe this. For in truth that, ladies, the facility is actually within you. All you must do is believe in it.
