I DO NOT know what's happening with Shantaram now: Big B

Two of his much-talked about films haven't pop out yet and shedding light on them Amitabh Bachchan says shooting for Shoebite is complete and that he has no clue about Shantaram.

"Shoebite was the concept Percept (Percept Picture Company) first worked on, then UTV came into the image or even Shoojit Sircar came on board. Then UTV said they have some legal problem with the twentieth Century Fox as they said this property belongs to them. So we needed to tell them that we're through with the shooting.

"Now this matter is resting with UTV. I DO NOT know what the end result is. From our side the work is over. Hope that the film gets released soon," Big B told reporters here Wednesday when he was asked concerning the status of the 2 films.

Big B, who will host Kaun Banega Crorepati 6, was here to unveil the 'Hot Seat Aapke Shehar' as a part of promotional activity of KBC, happening air Sep 7. 'Hot Seat Aapke Shehar' is a promotional van so they can travel to varied cities, including Rohtak, Bhopal, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagpur and Ahmedabad.

Talking about Shantaram, Big B said: "'Shantaram' was never placed on floors. Mira Nair had come to me saying she wanted me to try this role... She has Johnny Dep and she or he was very fascinated about it. I agreed to do the role. Later she told me regretfully that we have got abandoned this project. I DO NOT know what's happening with 'Shantaram' now."

Nair was attached to Shantaram, a large screen adaptation of Gregory David Roberts 2003 novel of the similar name, but production was shelved many years back.
