After making multiple films in keeping with socio-political issues, filmmaker Prakash Jha has created a distinct segment for himself in Bollywood. However, that doesn’t mean the director isn’t taken with the business of filmmaking. He's now eyeing the fabled Rs. 100 crore club along with his latest film,
Chakravyuh.
“I also attempt to make films that make Rs. 100 crore. I TRULY work flat out on my films. Do I do not up to folks that travel all over the world to shoot their films? I'M looking ahead to making Rs100 crore with Chakravyuh too,” says Prakash, whose film is ready to hit theatres on October 24.
Even the reigning members of the club — the Khans and Akshay Kumar — are actually on Prakash’s wish list.“I am engaged on scripts which I WILL fit the Khans (Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh) or Akshay (Kumar) in. They're all brilliant actors; and that i would really like to work with them,” he says.Starring Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai, Abhay Deol and Esha Gupta, Chakravyuh revolves across the Naxal movement.
And in line with Prakash, now “is the suitable time to make this sort of film” since the issue has only in the near past resurfaced and grabbed the eye of the federal government. “It is expanding; it’s popping out of forests and spilling over to the cities and universities,” says Prakash, adding, “In 1967, it started in Naxalbari and spread rapidly across Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and the Dandakaranya forest. It's rampant in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa.” Though the filmmaker is sure that his next won't be able to steer the political standpoint at the subject, he does feel that it'll be capable of give audiences an extraordinary insight into the lifetime of a Naxalite.
