Producer Bharat Shah has sent a legal notice to director Ram Gopal Varma over his dues. RGV's Satya sequel may additionally be in trouble as Shah, who was the producer of the film is reportedly not considering giving the go-ahead, reports a daily.
Shah has lodged the complaint with Association of Films and tv Programme Producers (AMPTPP). Ramu got Rs. 10 crore from Shah and the quantity has doubled over time. The filmmaker apparently has refused to pay the interest.
Atul Mankame, advocate for AMPTPP told the daily: "Mr Shah had lodged a complaint against Mr Varma to recover his money. The filmmaker had responded by filing a suit against him within the City Civil Court, Dindoshi. Last year, the Honourable Court referred the problem to AMPTPP. It has been a year and Mr Varma's office has not reverted at the issue. So, AMPTPP issued a notice to Mr Varma, asking him to contact the association in person or through his representative."
Ramu's Satya also appear to be in troubled waters as a result of controversy. "As a producer of Satya, Bharat bhai has the precise to the film and its title. RGV can't make a sequel with no go-ahead from Bharat bhai. And considering their legal dispute, it'll be difficult to procure permission from the financier-producer," the source told the daily.
After delivering a spate of flops like Department, Not a Love Story and Agyaat, Ram Gopal Varma announced the sequel to at least one of his most successful movies Satya. While the primary part featured Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpai and Urmila Matondkar, the sequel could have a brand new cast. John Abraham though not starring within the film, would produce it.
