Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who's riding high at the success of Paan Singh Tomar, feels independent filmmaking will help tackle socially relevant issues in a large way. "I FEEL independent filmmaking is the one way out on this country. There are such a large amount of issues that may be tackled through
independent filmmaking and never by studio films," Dhulia said on the launch of Delhi International Film Festival on Tuesday.
Part of the brand new wave of cinema, he's known for making films like Charas, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar.
"It is a superb time for Indian film industry. Cinema is changing now. Though it showed changes in early 2000, but over 10-12 years cinema has matured. Lot of kids are taking over filmmaking. There are young technicians, earlier it was not the case. It has become a well-liked profession," said Dhulia.
