Hrithik Roshan achieved great fan following because the masked superhero, Krrish. But for the actor, it's his father, Rakesh Roshan who's the actual star. Talking about his dad completing 25 years as a director in Bollywood, Hrithik says, “It makes me proud after I realise that if it wasn’t for him, our cinema would probably never have aliens or superheroes. People could be afraid to explore that genre.”
Lately, several big names, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar have toyed with the idea that of sci-fi and super heroes through films like RA.One (2011), Robot (2010) and the impending Joker.
But Rakesh’s Koi… Mil Gaya (2003) was arguably the primary to experiment with this actual theme.
At the moment, Hrithik, who fans have now started calling H.Ro, is teaming up along with his father for Krrish 3, the sequel to the 2006 hit. “With Krrish 3, he takes things to a different level. Even after 25 years, my father is catering to the youngest component of the audience. That is his youngest film,” smiles Hrithik. He adds, “It’s going to be a roller-coaster ride. I'M very satisfied with whatever we've got shot until now.”
Ask him if buddy Shah Rukh Khan will make a cameo within the upcoming film, and Hrithik replies, “No, there’s no cameo. I SUPPOSE the media made that up. But yes, his company, Red Chillies, is involved with the VFX for our film.”
