Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who have been on a break from films since she gave birth to daughter Aaradhya in November last year, could be ready for a comeback. The actor who made barely five appearances within the nine months since her delivery, was spotted at three events in exactly two days over the weekend. The film industry says that that is feeler enough that the 38-year-old is about for the silver screen.
Ash attended Bollywood cinematographer Ashok Mehta’s condolence meeting on Saturday in Mumbai.
The same evening, she was seen at industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s party, held to celebrate designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla’s 25 years within the fashion industry. And the very next day, the actor created a frenzy in Kochi where she went to inaugurate the shop of a jewelry brand she endorses.
“Aishwarya is an excessively intelligent woman. When you take a look at her career graph, you will see all her moves has been really well planned. So of course, this sudden increase in her public appearances, too, is definitely thought out. It’s been greater than a year that she have been out of the general public eye, so it's the right time for her to be in public eye,” says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who has worked with Ash in his musical hit, Taal, says, “She is an actor with a stature and undying talent and commands her space at the big screen. So it will be important for her to stick involved with showbiz.”
Ad guru Prahlad Kakkar, however, thinks otherwise. “I don’t think Aishwarya must resort to such tactics to announce that she's going to make a comeback. She isn't someone on which ‘out of mind out of sight’ fits. Having said that, these public appearances surely keep her within the limelight and ensure that folks know what she is up to.” Ash recently shot an advertisement for the jewelry brand which featured her looking suspiciously slim, prompting speculation that the pics were airbrushed, considering she had got flak for her post pregnancy weight gain.
